The First Falcon "Sunday Rowst" - Sunday 3rd August 2008
What is a Sunday Rowst? Quite simply it is a row or a paddle to a pub, lunch and a few drinks with good company and a row back... on a Sunday. For the more strenuous it may incorporate a training session or chasing down everything else on the river, but essentially it is fun, sociable time out.

The first Falcon Sunday Rowst took place on Sunday 3rd August 2008. A mixture of rowers and kayakers took to the water in a range of craft, including Red Kite 2, four Canadian canoes and three kayaks.
The group left Falcon around 10.30 and all headed off to do their own thing. Those sculling warmed up with a round on the Isis before heading off through Iffley Lock, whilst the Kayakers took in a much longer circuit through streams that rowers can only dream of. Others walked the tow path or tried out a Canoe – some for the first time.

Eighteen people met up at the Kings Arms for lunch, which was more than had been expected; there were a lot of apologies due to holidays. The food and hospitality were excellent & we were able to moor or lift boats out alongside the pub garden.

The return journey was more relaxed and at one point we shared a huge bar of chocolate (Kindly donated by Miles) mid stream. This took a deal of technical skill worthy of a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean. Thankfully though, Miles didn’t get his cheesy balls out, despite having threatened to.

We arrived back at Falcon around 3pm and all agreed that this was something we were keen to do again!
The Sunday Rowst is destined to become a regular feature at Falcon.
