Falcon Rowing and Canoeing Club

As the River Thames passes by Oxford, it has for over two hundred years been a place of leisure and pleasure, activity and exertion. In this long tradition, Falcon Rowing and Canoe Club provides the opportunity for all sorts and ages of people to enjoy the river and benefit from its place in our community. Come and visit our boathouse just upstream of Donnington Bridge in East Oxford, where most Saturday and Sunday mornings, you will find someone to chat to. CHENEY FALCON OLYMPIC ROWING CLUB
 

The sport of rowing is common place in private schools but not in the state system. There is now a Falcon satellite rowing club at Cheney School in Oxfordshire. The club was recently featured on a Meridian news story.

QUEEN'S AWARD

Falcon Rowing & Canoeing Club have been announced winners of the 2012 Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service! click here

The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is an annual award made to recognise and reward excellence in voluntary activities carried out by groups in the community. The award was created to mark the Golden Jubilee in 2002, recognising outstanding contributions by groups of volunteers. For a voluntary group, it is the equivalent of getting an MBE.
