Getting Going

Rowing refers to rowing and sculling.  'Rowing' is when each rower pulls against a brace on only one oar, 'sculling' when each rower pulls on two oars.

Kayaking means boating in craft propelled by an un-braced paddle with a blade at each end, canoeing means boating in a craft used with an un-braced single bladed paddle.
