Founded in 1869, Oxford's Falcon Rowing and Canoeing Club caters for rowers and flatwater kayak racers. We're one of the oldest rowing clubs on the Thames and the only one upstream of Reading offering flatwater K1, K2 and K4 kayak paddling programmes. To keep our club active, we're always on the look out for new members; paddlers and rowers of all standards are warmly received.
Falcon is a friendly and sociable place with a cosmopolitan mix of ages, sexes and abilities, with many of us not being averse to sitting on the meadow outside the clubhouse as the world floats by...
The relaxed atmosphere doesn't diminish the racing ambitions, however, as Falcon is successful at all disciplines from novice up to high senior level. On the canoeing side, Falcon has produced some GB squad competitors. Whether a recreational boater or serious competitor, then you'll find a warm welcome at Falcon. Our Club Sunday events bring the club together - everyone is guaranteed an outing - or just a cup of coffee and a bacon sandwich!
